Heartbeats from the Middle East

Fernando Perez (Spain) and Mohammed Antar (Egypt) met during their performances at "El Cairo Opera House" in Egypt, their mutual artistic admiration for each other along with the sparkle of a new friendship inspired the two artists to collaborate producing a repertoire that blended their two cultural backgrounds, preserving and respecting its values as well as bringing new visions.

These compositions are performed in Ney; an eastern instrument from the flute family; Flamenco guitar, Arabic guitar; which is a special design created by Mr. Perez in order to perform eastern music in a western instrument; as well as Middle Eastern and Flamenco percussion played by Mr. Ayman Mabrouk, the Egyptian percussionist well known by his versatile skills.

1- Bhairavi Dhun was composed in India, reflecting the air of light Indian music during the pink sunsets of a colorful land called Rajasthan.

2- Ramali’l Moya Andalusiyya… What is this mystery around Ramal Al Moya? How uncommon but yet there is something familiar in it. Nights and days I spent to unravel this Maqam, try! Listen for yourself! Cause its beauty is rare.

3- Tango Oriental... traveling sounds ringing from the far east, heartbeat of a people who spread all the way from India to Spain.

4- La Visita del Sultan is not what it seems, The Teacher visits the Sultan or is the Teacher
being visited? Inspired in the teachings of Rumi explaining how we need to keep our souls unsold, since they are a borrowing from the Creator.
